Coming up , the second generation of X1 evolves. Find our test online Friday, October 4 at midnight.

The BMW SUV range has been completely overhauled in two years. Since late 2017, the brand has launched the new generations of X3, X4, X5 and X6, and launched the X2 and X7! The X1 seems out of date, because for him, it is now about a restyling. The second generation was introduced four years ago.

The facelift is rather visible in the front, because the model adopts, like his brothers, a new grille with bigger and more angular beans. The round foglamps in height have been abandoned, replaced by LED elements in the form of bars. The dressing of the headlights and fires has been reviewed. On board, however, it is almost the status quo.

The range of engines is already rich. In gasoline, there is at the entry level the 18i with three cylinders 140 hp (traction). Then we have the 20i four-cylinder 192 hp (traction or xDrive) and finally the 25i with four cylinders 231 hp (xDrive). For diesel, the basic 16d traction model has a small three-cylinder 116 hp. Then the four-cylinder 18d and 20d 150 and 190 hp leave the choice between traction or xDrive.
